Four Rivers Missional Communities are the church expression of Four Rivers Ministries; a house-based, Spirit-led family shaped by the picture we see in Acts:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
Acts 2:42
Rather than focusing on a building or a brand, we envision a growing family of missional communities, living-room congregations across the Gallatin Valley and beyond; where people are truly known, spiritual gifts are activated, and disciples make disciples. We long to see the people of God alive with the fire of the Holy Spirit: rooted in God’s Word, thriving in authentic fellowship, and reaching the broken and weary with the hope of Jesus.
A Heritage of Revival Fire
This vision is rooted in a heritage of revival.
Sam’s grandfather encountered Jesus during the Welsh Revival, a move of God that set entire communities ablaze with repentance, worship, and bold witness. He chose not to keep that fire to himself, but to share it as a preacher, carrying the flame into new places and hearts.
His son, Sam’s father, also became a pastor. He shared his faith with many and, by God’s grace, helped ignite the call to ministry in nine others, one of whom is Sam. Sam stands as a third-generation carrier of the Welsh Revival legacy.
Now, that flame burns in the fourth generation. Sam and his daughter both preach the gospel, with his daughter carrying the message of Jesus to nations around the world. The spark that began in the Welsh Revival has become a line of preachers, pastors, and evangelists, and Four Rivers Missional Communities are one of the ways that flame is meant to spread in our time.
With this heritage, our desire to see revival is not a passing idea; it is a continuous, burning longing. We believe God still pours out His Spirit, still saves, still heals, and still awakens hearts. Our vision is to see the Gallatin Valley and beyond, on fire for Jesus.
Phase One: A Missional Community in the Living Room
Right now, our primary missional community gathers in our living room in Bozeman, Montana. We open our home each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM for coffee, tea, and a light breakfast. At 10:15 AM, we move into a time of worship where we sing, share the Word, and make space for the Holy Spirit to speak and move. Once a month, we celebrate communion together, remembering the finished work of Jesus and renewing our devotion to Him.
It’s a truly family-friendly environment, from ages 3 to 96. Children are welcome, noise is welcome, and real life is welcome. We believe a missional community should feel like family: a place where you can be yourself, be honest about your struggles, be prayed for, and be strengthened in your faith. Our desire is not to build a Sunday “service” but to nurture a Jesus-centered household of faith.
From the beginning, our goal has been to grow the missional community by growing the spiritual gifts of the people in it. As the Lord adds to our number, we envision multiplying into more living rooms, each one becoming its own vibrant missional community. In each home, we want to give the opportunity of believers to use their spiritual gifts of hospitality, preaching, teaching, caregiving, intercession, musical worship, and more. This is how we believe the body of Christ is meant to function: many members, many gifts, one Spirit, one mission.

Raising Up Fivefold Leaders
As we grow, we recognize that God is calling some within our missional communities into the fivefold ministry; apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers (Ephesians 4:11–13). These gifts are given by Jesus to equip His people for works of service and to build up the body of Christ. We want to be a community where these callings are not only recognized, but intentionally cultivated.
At the same time, we deeply value the full range of spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit, gifts of hospitality, mercy, helps, intercession, encouragement, administration, generosity, discernment, healing, words of wisdom and knowledge, and more. We believe every believer has a vital part to play, whether that’s preaching the gospel, welcoming people at the door, praying behind the scenes, leading worship, caring for children, or serving in quiet, unseen ways that matter greatly to God.
Within our living-room gatherings and our larger worship times, we want to create space for:
- Personal mentoring and discipleship for those sensing a fivefold call (apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, or teaching).
- Safe, Spirit-led environments to practice and grow in preaching, teaching, evangelism, prophecy, healing, intercession, worship, and other gifts.
- Intentional development of gifts like hospitality, mercy, service, administration, creativity, and generosity, recognizing that these are necessary to the health of the church.
- Accountability and character formation, so that gifting is always rooted in humility, holiness, and Christlike love.
Our longing is to see a community where giftedness does not sit on the sidelines and no calling goes unnoticed, where people are seen, equipped, and released into what God has placed on their lives. From our missional communities, we desire to see Spirit-gifted believers in every area of life, carrying the fire of Jesus into homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, the Gallatin Valley, and to the ends of the earth. In this way, our vision is not just to gather believers, but to send out mature, Spirit-empowered disciples who will plant new communities, preach the gospel boldly, serve with compassion, and shepherd God’s people with integrity and power.

Phase Two: House-Based Communities and the Barn
As God brings the vision of Four Rivers Ranch to life, the second phase of our missional communities vision will align with the ranch vision. We will continue to meet in living rooms across the valley on Sunday mornings;; keeping the intimacy, discipleship, and gift-activation of missional communities at the center.
Then, on Sunday evenings, all of the living-room communities will gather together on the ranch, in a barn that has been renovated into a worship center. Picture multiple missional communities, each with its own preachers, musicians, intercessors, and servants, coming together as one body to lift high the name of Jesus
These Sunday evening gatherings will be times of:
- Unified worship and celebration
- Teaching that strengthens and equips the wider body
- Testimonies of what God is doing in homes and neighborhoods
- Prayer for revival across the Gallatin Valley and beyond
A Movement of Disciples Who Make Disciples
At the core of our missional communities vision is a simple, uncompromising commitment: to make disciples who make disciples. We believe every follower of Jesus is called, gifted, and sent. In our living rooms and, one day, in the barn on the ranch, we want to:
- Ground people deeply in Scripture through teaching and in-depth study
- Equip them to recognize and operate in their spiritual gifts
- Release them to lead, serve, and multiply into new communities
- See homes become outposts of the Kingdom, filled with prayer, worship, and witness
We are not chasing growth for the sake of growth. We are asking God to raise up whole-hearted disciples, people who love Jesus, love one another, and carry the gospel into their neighborhoods, workplaces, and networks. Our prayer is that from Bozeman to the Gallatin Valley and beyond, the fire of God’s presence would spread from living room to living room, heart to heart.
Partnering With the Vision
A vision like this; multiplying missional communities, discipling believers, renovating a barn into a worship center, and ultimately connecting it all to a healing ranch for families with chronic illness, is far bigger than what we can do on our own. It will take prayer, people, and provision.
If this stirs something in your spirit, we invite you to partner with us.
Your prayers help plow the spiritual ground for revival, praying for workers, for unity, for protection, and for hearts ready to receive the gospel.
Your presence matters as you join a missional community, bring your gifts, open your home, and step into the call to make disciples.
Your financial support helps us:
- Sustain and grow our existing missional community and weekly Bible studies
- Equip leaders, musicians, and intercessors for new living-room congregations
- Prepare for the renovation of the barn into a worship center
- Move toward the ranch vision that will extend our ministry to families in deep need
Every gift, whether large or small, one-time or monthly, is an investment in a biblical, Spirit-led movement of disciples.
Come Be Part of the Story
We believe God is writing a story in this valley, a story of living rooms filled with worship, of ordinary people walking in extraordinary faith, of generations carrying the flame of revival forward.
Four Rivers Missional Communities are one small but significant part of that story. We would be honored to welcome you into our living room (1164 New Holland Dr. Bozeman, MT), to walk with you in faith, and to partner together in seeing Jesus exalted in the Gallatin Valley and beyond.
If you’re hungry for more of God, longing for authentic community, or stirred to see revival in our day, we invite you to join us, and to help us build what God has called us to, one living room and one life at a time.
